Here's a breakdown of the past month-ish...

Never in a million years would I have guessed I'd be creating a fb group for my boobs! Yet here we are!

10/11/21 Annual Mam + Ultrasound. Call @ 2:30... calcifications were found.

10/13/21 Mam retake. Calcifications are really there…Option to wait 6 months to see if it grows or get area biopsied.

10/15/21 Biopsy - This was a mother trucker!!!! My anxiousness probably didn’t help the painful procedure.

10/18/21 Read results via MyChart @ 4:50 got the sweetest call from Primary Dr. @ 5:15 on her way home from work.

10/19/21 Call from UnityPoint Case Mgr @ 8:30 notifying me of results + she booked appt. w/ surgeon the next morning.

10/20/21 Appt w/ General Surgeon, who wants to perform surgery in 1 - 2 weeks (aka by 10/27) + Case Mgr appt.

10/22/21 Appt w/ PCI Oncologist who said I wouldn’t need radiation unless I have a lumpectomy surgery.

10/26/21 Appt w/ Plastic Surgeon, who I really liked!

10/29/21 Appt w/ UofI Breast Cancer Surgeon. Wanted to understand how a “cancer center” would handle this little problem. Provided a very detailed rundown of options. The bad part is they are booking surgery now in mid-December.

11/11/21 Appt w/ UofI Genetics Counselor. Learned more than I realized about family history thanks to my Daddy and Maternal Aunt being avail to chat and provide details.

11/15/21 Appt w/ UofI Reconstructive Surgeon. He’s ok and performs surgery only on Wednesdays… this kinda explains why they’re booked out. First avail. date is 1/19/22. We booked it!

11/23/21 Appt w/ UofI Breast Surgeon for pre-op. Felt weird going into a pre-op in Nov. when surgery is in Jan. Things got more real.

Next up…

12/10/21 Appt w/ UIHC Reconstructive Surgeon for pre-op.

12/14/21 Virtual appt w/ Mercy Oncologist. UIHC Oncology appt. is scheduled after surgery on 1/14.
