Making A Decision
I’m prepping for the most wonderful day, Christmas, while I’m coherent and mobile now. I just wrote a message inside Chadly’s Christmas card and cried the entire time writing it.
You all, Chad has always been such a great man/hubby/stepdad/daddy and now a huge supporter through this diagnosis! He’s attended every single appointment with me and gives me so much grace when I’m cranky (ie yesterday). He spent countless night hours for weeks researching surgery options. (The good news is we have options. The bad news is we have options each with pros + cons.) He made me a factual list on the kid’s whiteboard to help me decide. He is such a gift! I’m totally keeping him.
Considering my age (they/Drs. consider me young at 46…I LOVE it!!), family history, and statistical reoccurrence, I’ll be having a double mastectomy with reconstructive surgery immediately following. Total surgery is estimated to be 8 hours. This will fly for me, it’s poor Chadly who gets to hang at the hospital.
Leave a comment on what you think he should do during that time. Here are his restrictions: he cannot leave the hospital, nor have visitors.
